Young Onset Dementia Information Programme

Alzheimer’s Society and YoungDementia UK have developed an information programme for people with young onset dementia in Derbyshire.

The programme will run for three weeks and be held on 19, 26 June and 3 July at Dunston Meeting Room, Chesterfield.

Week one

  • Introduction
  • Personal and professional support networks

Week two

  • Planning ahead
  • Maintaining independence
  • Employment
  • Benefit

Week three

  • Networking event including information and guidance on staying involved and active

Week one and two of the programme are for people who meet the following criteria;

  • Diagnosis of Young Onset Dementia in the past year, and
  • Currently aged under 65 years old, and
  • Resident in Derbyshire (County)

Attendees can self-refer or be referred to the programme but must be booked on to one of the available spaces.

Week three of the programme is open anyone with a diagnosis of Young Onset Dementia, regardless of their age or where they live. Family members, friends and carers are also free to attend on this week.

All attendees must still book on, even those just attending week three.

The programme will be delivered by Dementia Support Workers and will include some external speakers and organisations.
